Pétanque England’s selection process concluded over the weekend in Gravesend, Kent, finalising England’s representatives for the 2025 World Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles Championships in Rome this September.

Men’s Competition Highlights:
Day 1:
22 teams competed in a Swiss System format followed by knockout stages.
- Jason White & Rowland Jones went undefeated, sealing a dominant final win 13-0 against Ben Gallimore & Sam Blakey.
- This extended their incredible winning streak to 19 games across SSE Triples and Doubles.
Day 2:
- Despite strong performances from Jeremy Huntley & Callum Lombard, their Day 1 ranking hindered final qualification.
- Jason & Rowly continued their form, making the final again and securing top ranking regardless of the result.
Final Overall Rankings:
- Jason & Rowly (qualified) – 61 ranking points
- Jeremy & Callum – 40 points
- Dean Ashby & Neil Phillips – 32 points

Women’s Competition Highlights:
7 teams competed in a double round-robin format across two days.
Day 1:
- Becky Edwins & Sarah Huntley led after Day 1.
- Alex Spillett & Ella Slade had mixed results but stayed in contention.
Day 2:
- Alex & Ella turned the tide with dominant wins.
- Final game decider: Alex & Ella beat Becky & Sarah 13-5 to clinch the Rome spot.
Final Overall Rankings:
- Alex & Ella (qualified) – 64 points
- Becky & Sarah – 63 points
- Tegan Finlay & Amy Geddes (Youth players – impressive showing) – 31 points
