The official announcement by PE is pending but P365 has learnt this morning that Alex Spillett has been selected to join the Women’s England team that will compete in the Triples World Championships.
Alex, along with teammates Sabrina Seville and Lori Wellden, were the narrow runners-up in the recent Women’s SSE event at Worthing where they were only denied victory in the showdown final 12th match of the weekend.
Alex, a versatile player who has worked her way up through the youth and espoirs ranks achieved an outstanding European Silver Medal with partner Hannah Griffin in the European Women’s Doubles in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Holland in July 2022, achieving a superb run of results in the knockout stage defeating Belgium, Holland and Spain. That’s a string of results against some of the best nations in Europe that has never been achieved by any English team.
The duo were unlucky not to get a first ever Gold in a top level Senior Women’s tournament in a tight match against Monaco which they narrowly lost 9-13.

Alex joins Meadow club teammate Becky Edwins, 18-year old first time senior player Ella Slade and European Youth Silver Medallist and highly experienced Sarah Huntley who has multiple international representations under her belt and World Bronze Medal in Precision Shooting achieved in Turkey in 2011.
It’s a team that combines youth and experience as well as success at the highest level, and the respective roles of the players look natural, offering a nice balance to the team with Becky pointing, Sarah shooting and Alex and Ella being the utility players.

Another advantage Alex brings to the team is that along with Becky, she has played at the venue of the World Championships – the fantastic Boulodrome at Sin-le-Noble – late last year for the Meadow Club in the EuroCup.
The team also benefits from a terrific coach in the shape of Jeremy Huntley who has been present at a number of recent championships in this role, bringing his significant experience and tactical nous as well as consistency in coaching support which has sometimes been lacking in the past for our international teams.
The team now has almost six months to prepare for the championships which take place later this year between 9th to 12th October. The P365 Stream Team is planning to be in France for this to bring *live and exclusive* coverage. Look out for details on how you can watch our team in action nearer the time.
